Backing X/Y Cloth

SiC (Silicon Carbide) is the hardest and sharpest of the minerals used in abrasives. Thanks to its hardness and very sharp shape, this abrasive is ideal for multiple applications that do not require great pressure when cutting. Its grains are friable and, when broken, they continually expose new cutting edges that allow rapid removal of the material. It is more aggressive than Alox but wears out more quickly.

Stronger and relatively rigid compared to J cloth , X cloth is used in products designed for medium and coarse grains and material removal and finishing applications. It is one of the standard Cloths used by all manufacturers.
Stronger and more resistant to breaking and cutting, the Y cloth is a support used in products designed for severe applications, usually in belts. It is usually made of polyester to ensure greater mechanical resistance.

The indicated grits are the most common for the operations in question, but they do not exhaust all available alternatives. We will be happy to help you find the best solution for your case.

The indicated dimensions are merely illustrative and are common in the industry. OTA does not list them, as it uses an MTO system tailored to the needs of each client.
