Alox (Aluminium Oxide) is the most common type of abrasive. It is an excellent starting point for most applications. It is the ideal solution when you want the ability to resist fracturing and medium aggressiveness. It is durable, with resistant cutting edges, showing continuous wear.
This abrasive configuration and layout technology consists of pyramidal or triangular block structures, which contain multiple layers of abrasive mineral that are distributed over the abrasive surface.
As the structures wear down, the intact mineral is exposed, providing consistent finishes and longer abrasive life. This technology was originally developed by 3M, which branded it Trizact. Its performance is especially noticeable on fine grains and it uses the following types of abrasive: Alox, SiC and Cer.
JJ and J cloths are light and flexible fabrics used when surface finishing and uniformity are more important than material removal. They are ideal for finishes where flexibility and conformity are essential, such as contour work, especially on curved surfaces. JJ and J cloths are usually made of cotton, but they are also available in a blend (polyester/cotton) when you want to give them more mechanical strength.
The indicated grits are the most common for the operations in question, but they do not exhaust all available alternatives. We will be happy to help you find the best solution for your case.
The indicated dimensions are merely illustrative and are common in the industry. OTA does not list them, as it uses an MTO system tailored to the needs of each client.
OTA manufactures practically all types of joints, whatever the material. Although there are base references, OTA’s MTO model involves adapting the type of joint to each specific need.
