Alox (Aluminium Oxide) is the most common type of abrasive. It is an excellent starting point for most applications. It is the ideal solution when you want the ability to resist fracturing and medium aggressiveness. It is durable, with resistant cutting edges, showing continuous wear.
C or D papers, medium and light respectively, are used when some flexibility and resistance are required. Stronger and less flexible than the A and B papers, these types of supports are still chosen for manual work (dry or wet), allowing its usage on many sanding machines, even with medium pressure.
The indicated grits are the most common for the operations in question, but do not exhaust the available alternatives. We will be happy to help you find the best solution for your case.
The indicated dimensions are merely illustrative and are common in the industry. OTA does not list them, as it uses an MTO system tailored to the needs of each client.
Triangle/delta holes is an important and often neglected topic. The best solution depends on several factors, namely: the triangle diameter, the suction system and the holes in the machine pad. There is, therefore, a huge variety of standard solutions.
The backing of the abrasive in fabric (Vel) is the most common application in Europe and is designed to allow the use of discs or sheets on equipment or plates with a Velcro® type system to allow easy, quick and reusable fastening. The type of fabric is always adjusted to the abrasive in question and comes in a wide range of weights and strengths.
